The president of Highland Capital announced that the firm had committed a grant towards helping The Family Place last October. The Family Place is an organization that supports victims of family violence in Dallas. They are seeking to raise three million dollars towards their Legacy Campaign that supports the building of a counseling center in the city. The center will serve family violence victims. It will be named the Ann Moody Place. It will have the capacity to host more than two thousand people in a year. They are constructing it because of the limited space of the current center.


The center will have a medical clinic, job-training spaces, a hotline center, and several bedrooms in the case of an emergency. There will be several counseling rooms where children and adults can be guided privately or in a group. The Ann Moody place will feature an animal shelter because many victims of violence are afraid to leave their pets. The Be Project is an organization that offers teenage violence prevention education. It will be housed at the agency. The project reaches more than five thousand teens each year.
