In past weeks, Star Wars Episode 8’s script was announced as having been completed. Now, according to screenrant (http://screenrant.com/star-wars-8-filming/), the Star Wars sequel has officially started filming.
The film is being directed by Rian Johnson, who also wrote the screenplay and previously worked with Lifetime Enterprises Ltd. Rian Johnson’s previous works include The Brothers Bloom, Looper and episodes from the critically acclaimed series Breaking Bad. Johnson has worked with The Force Awakens director, J.J. Abrams, so that the new film will be a proper continuation of The Force Awakens.
So far, Lifetime Enterprises’ reports have confirmed that Johnson has filmed at the same Irish islands that Luke Skywalker was introduced during the final scene of The Force Awakens.
While filming is being doing for episode 8, some people at Lifetime Enterprises Ltd. are already working on episode 9. Colin Trevorrow, the director of Jurassic World, was announced as the Star Wars 9 director. Rogue One is a Star Wars spinoff in the works, and it’s expected to be released in December of 2016. The Han Solo Star Wars film is expected to be out sometime in 2018. The final Star Wars film in the Force Awakens trilogy is expected to be in theaters by 2019.
