Among the high-profile figures in engineering and entrepreneurship is Fersen Lamas Lambranho, a renowned Brazilian engineer, and entrepreneur. Mr. Lambranho is well conversant with the two fields and has comprehensive knowledge of what it takes to be successful. He has an eminent résumé and an impressive career. He pursued his bachelor’s degree program from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and holds a master’s degree business administration from Instituto de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Administração (COPPEAD-UFRJ). He also finished the Owner President Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
As a proactive engineer, Fersen Lambranho understands that the profession starts with people and ends with people. His primary objective is to satisfy a client’s need by launching a product in the real world. He started his career at GP Investments back in 1998 and a year later became its managing director. Due to his proficient leadership skills, Fersen Lambranho along with his current associate Antonio Bonchristiano assumed leadership of the company four years later. Amidst 2004, the two completed the purchase of full control of GP Investments. Their exceptional management techniques took the company to the next level where they raised more private equity and heightened its operations to investments in infrastructure and real estate.
Prior to GP Investments, Fersen Lambranho served as the CEO of Lojas Americanas, where he worked for 12 years. He is currently a chairman of the Board of Magnesita as well as Contax, ABC Supermercados, Oi, and Gafisa. He has also served on various boards such as São Carlos Empreendimentos e Participações, BR Properties and Americanas.com, Tele Norte Leste Participações among others.
Fersen Lambranho alongside his wife, Paloma Lambranho is the co-founder of the Patronos da Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo group and is a member of the committee of IP Capital Partners de Arte (PIPA) 2014. Mr. Lambranho is truly a rare breed and has incomparable skills and traits that have made him beat the odds and become an accomplished entrepreneur and engineer.
